Nuno is a visiting professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Science of Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. Previously, he was a consultant in Biostatistics/Bioinformatics for Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany and an assistant professor of Biostatistics & Statistical Genetics at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK. He obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência & Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar of University of Oporto, Portugal. Prior to his PhD, he obtained MSc in Applied Mathematics (Statistics) and BSc in Applied Mathematics & Computation from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. He is currently investigating the causal proteins of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which is a post-infection sequelae due to viral outbreaks including COVID-19, using immunogenetics and population genetics approaches.
